IOGP appoints Ed Connelly to its Board of Directors

(London, 25 February 2026) – The International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) has appointed Ed Connelly, Chief Technology Officer and Vice President, Global Technical Functions at ConocoPhillips, to its Board of Directors.

Graham Henley, CEO of IOGP, said, “Ed’s deep operational and technical leadership spanning more than 30 years will strengthen the Board’s ability to guide IOGP’s strategic priorities as companies navigate safety performance, sustainability expectations, digital transformation, and the energy transition.”

Ed’s appointment follows outgoing IOGP Board member Trond-Erik Johansen, Corporate Vice President, HSE at ConocoPhillips’ retirement. Graham thanked Trond-Erik for his leadership, commitment and contributions to IOGP during his tenure, which supported IOGP through a period of delivery and growth.”

Ed said, “I look forward to contributing to IOGP’s strategic priorities and engaging with fellow Board members to help our Members and industry continue advancing safe, efficient, and sustainable operations globally.”

Since joining ConocoPhillips in 2006, he has held production, engineering, operations, and senior leadership roles across Calgary, Brisbane, Houston, and Alaska. Ed currently leads the Production, Wells, Subsurface, Exploration, Projects, Marine, Aviation, and Supply Chain functions. Prior to this, he held project and operational leadership positions with junior and intermediate oil and gas companies in Calgary.

Ed holds a petroleum engineering technology diploma from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT).
