Leadership Announcement – Programmes and MEA Director transition
Frank van Ewijk, Programmes and Middle East & Africa Director, will complete he assignment to IOGP on 30th June 2026 to return to Shell.
During his tenure as Programmes and MEA Director, Frank has made exceptional contributions to IOGP’s work, most notably through his leadership of JIP33, where his vision, persistence, and ability to bring Members and leaders from the supply chain together have been instrumental in establishing one of the association’s most impactful programmes. Under his guidance, JIP33’s strategic importance to the industry has grown. It recently entered a new phase, having transitioned from being managed by the 12 sponsoring Member companies to participation now open to all IOGP Member companies – continuing to deliver value to our Members through standardisation, efficiency, and collaboration across the industry.
Beyond JIP33, Frank has played a key role across a wide range of initiatives, strengthening engagement with Members, advancing our technical programmes, and supporting IOGP’s work in the Middle East & Africa region. His calm leadership, strategic insights, and commitment to Member value have served the organisation well. On behalf of the Secretariat and our Members, I would like to express our sincere thanks to Frank for his dedication and the significant contributions he has made. We wish him every success as he returns to Shell.
Following Frank’s departure, his responsibilities will transition as follows:
- Programmes responsibilities will fully transition to Sajeev Menon, Director Engineering & Standards, ensuring continuity across our technical and standardisation activities.
- Middle East & Africa Director responsibilities will transition to Tom Frost, Safety Director. Tom’s extensive international experience, including assignments in Gabon and Iraq positions him very well to lead IOGP’s engagement across the region.
These changes will take effect from 1 July 2026, and we will work closely over the coming months to ensure a smooth and orderly transition.
Graham Henley, IOGP CEO said, “I would like to personally, and on behalf of IOGP, thank Frank for his outstanding service to IOGP and in supporting Sajeev and Tom in their expanded roles.
