IOGP Report 365

Learn how to implement land transport safety elements in a management system

Driving-related incidents are commonly the single largest cause of fatalities in IOGP member company operations. The report provides guidance on implementing land transport safety elements in a management system to help reduce, and ultimately eliminate, the number of serious road traffic incidents and fatalities. It is applicable to all land transport activities in the E&P industry. This revision keeps us up-to-date with current exposures, issues and terminology. There are improvements throughout, including additional guidance on distracted driving and journey management. The recommended maximum duty hours is reduced from 16 to 14 hours. The word ‘should’ is now used instead of ‘shall’ to indicate recommended practice. In addition, four new guidance notes support Report No. 365:

  • 365-14, Vehicle specification and upfitting
  • 365-15, Bus and coach safety
  • 365-16, Emergency Response Vehicles
  • 365-17, Mobile Construction Equipment
