Description

IOGP’s Managing Major Incident Risks Task Force developed this guide to help organisations reduce major incident risks by focusing on asset integrity management. It may be applied to new and existing assets at every life cycle stage. The information presented within it is derived from good practices in mature operating areas where operators are required to provide structured evidence of sound risk management practices. Although this guide may be used by anyone who contributes to the management of asset integrity, it is particularly targeted at senior managers, including those from a non-technical background, who lead operating organisations. Use of the included question set (Appendix A) can help assure that major incident risks are suitably controlled. This report includes references for those who require more in-depth understanding of asset integrity management.
