2022 highlights

2023 work plan

In 2023, the Health Committee will update one of its existing Reports, 559 – Infectious Disease
Management, and begin work examining the health impacts of the energy transition and newer
technologies on energy workers and the communities they serve.

We will continue to develop our relationship with the World Health Organization (WHO), and
monitor the still extant COVID-19 pandemic, updating as may be necessary our guidance on
testing, vaccines, and Report 605 – Pandemic management in the oil and gas industry.

We will promote our newest Report, Managing medical emergencies and primary healthcare
delivery, with a series of dedicated webinars, and publish an upcoming Report on health
standards for living quarters.

Collaboration

In 2022, the Health Committee established a key interface with the WHO. We foresee this to deepen and to open opportunities for our industry to help progress WHO priorities and to bring our voice to the table.

Further, the Health Committee represents IOGP as a formal supporter of Building Responsibly, a construction industry initiative, to help progress and support worker rights and welfare across the world.

The Committee also supports the Faculty of Remote and Rural Health Care, part of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.
