Description
The management and regulation of drill cuttings treatment and disposal is a complex technical procedure that requires consideration of a multitude of variables that form a drill cuttings management plan. Lifecycle Impact Assessments (LCIA) evaluate the lifetime environmental impact of a product or service. As regulators are increasingly exposed to the use of LCIAs in project design in other industries, IOGP performed an analysis of selected LCIAs to compare the overall HSE impacts of different cuttings management choices and to share the results with regulators and other stakeholders.
