This new report presents the safety performance of the aviation industry concerned in both upstream and downstream operations, reported by participating IOGP Member Companies for the period 2013-16.

It is the first report of oil and gas industry aviation safety performance data that has been collected specifically from Member Companies of IOGP. It is published as part of the IOGP data series.

The report is based on submissions from 24 participating IOGP Member Companies for operations in 59 countries worldwide for 2016.

The key indicators for analysis of aviation operations and safety performance are:

  • numbers of fatalities
  • accidents recorded
  • hours flown
  • passengers carried
  • flights performed.

This report presents worldwide and regional results against these indicators, and the rates of exposure by aircraft activity performed and type of aircraft flown.
