This is version three of this document, which supports IOGP Report 365 and its guidance note series. It provides a single reference glossary for land transportation safety terms.
In version three, the following terms have been added: airbag, anti-lock braking system (ABS), contractor, distracted driving, driver fitness assessment (also referred to as a fitness-to-drive capability screening), electronic stability control (ESC), fatality, fatigue, head rest, mobile (construction) equipment, near miss, side impact protection system, third party, trailer stability control, transport – land (as a type of activity), utility terrain vehicle (UTV), vehicle, wheel nut indicators.
