Learn how the industry performed in 2012 on a range of health criteria
n 2008, the joint Health Committee of the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (OGP) and IPIECA, the global oil and gas industry association for environmental and social issues, published OGP Report No. 393, Health Performance Indicators – A guide for the oil and gas industry.
Content from that report was used to develop two tools that can be used to assess health leading performance indicators within individual companies, and to compare performance between different parts of a company and between participating companies.
Both tools were used in 2013 to gauge health performance between participating OGP and IPIECA Member companies. The results are published in this report (No. 2013h). The data represent 29 companies, all of which provided data for both tools. 15 of the companies also participated in 2012. Nine companies had not taken part in previous years.
The results of the data gathered using the health performance indicator tools for the years 2008–2012 were previously published as OGP Report Nos. 2011h and 2012h.
The scope of the health performance indicators data differs from that used for the safety, process safety and environmental performance data in that data are included for both upstream and downstream activities.
The invitation to participate in this analysis was extended to both OGP and IPIECA member companies and organizations and we are therefore seeing a large increase in the number of companies taking part compared with previous years.
OGP also produces additional annual reports of Safety, Process Safety and Environmental Performance Indicators.
