Description

The global oil and gas industry, as part of the energy transition, is focusing on decreasing energy use, increasing energy efficiency, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Energy optimization is part of the broader path to greenhouse gas emissions reduction in the upstream oil and gas industry, which includes minimizing energy demand as well as maximizing efficiency. The mission of the IOGP Energy Efficiency Expert Group is to provide materials that will support widespread implementation of energy efficiency technologies and practices for existing and new offshore and onshore oil and gas facilities.

This Report shares recommended practices for energy management and optimization for the design, installation, and operation of new and existing equipment and systems. This Report will enable companies to evaluate their current energy efficiency practices from an organizational, asset, system, and equipment-level perspective to identify gaps and improve energy efficiency.
