IOGP commissioned a study to identify benefits for the potential use of eye tracking technology to enable future safety improvements for well control. The study took place using eye tracking technology with experienced drilling professionals using eye tracking equipment while participating in well control scenarios using a high-fidelity drilling simulator. The study found that eye tracking technology is an effective analysis tool and has the potential to be of value in other human performance areas that affect wells operations.
