Description

This Report provides a foundational review of induced seismicity and guidance to assess and manage induced seismicity risks associated with geologic storage of CO2 in subsurface formations.

Through consolidating current knowledge of induced seismicity, including scientific and project learnings, this document serves as a resource for CCS project developers, subsurface practitioners, and national/public bodies to support the understanding of induced seismicity, and assessing, managing, and communicating induced seismicity risks.

Induced seismicity hazard and risk assessment, management approaches, methodologies, and tools, combined with an overview of international regulatory approaches serve as a reference for CO2 storage stakeholders.
