The International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) announces a new Chair

Press Release: London, 29th November 2022

Kim McHugh, Vice President of Wells, Chevron, will be heading the Board of the global Association as it enters its 49th year.

Based in Houston, Texas, in the United States, Kim is responsible for all aspects of Chevron’s global drilling, completion, and workover operations. She is a second-generation driller who grew up in the industry and has held a swathe of roles in the United States and internationally. Kim serves on the USA Volleyball Foundation, Texas A&M Petroleum Engineering Industry Board, Spindletop Board and Girls on the Run Board.

Kim has been a long-serving representative in the Association, closely involved with the Wells Expert Committee and Workforce Energy programmes. She became the Chevron representative on the Board of Directors and Vice Chair in 2020.

Kim steps up at a time where the Association is one year into the implementation of its new strategic direction and will steer IOGP in a time of great economic and industry volatility.

Kim replaces Fawaz (Fuzzy) Bitar, Senior Vice President of HSE & Carbon, bp, who has been Chair for four years. Fuzzy has been instrumental in advancing IOGP through the energy transition and modernising the Association. His passion for safety through the standardisation of life-saving rules and process safety fundamentals will drive improvements for years to come. We would like to thank Fuzzy for his significant contributions to IOGP and our industry.

The handover took place after the 48th Extraordinary General Meeting in London, United Kingdom on 17th November, 2022.
