New faces at IOGP’s Brussels office

We are delighted to announce two new appointments at the Brussels office: Maria Karagiannidou-Rosiek joins us as Policy Manager responsible for the Marine & Environment Subcommittee; and Thierry Bros is the new Senior Manager in charge of Upstream and Energy & Market issues and IOGP Lead Analyst.

Before joining IOGP, Maria spent seven years working with MOL as an EU Regulatory and Public Affairs expert on EU energy, climate and environmental legislation with impact on downstream and upstream operations. At MOL, she was also part of the international public affairs team focusing on political developments in the EU and CEE region.

As thalassophile (a lover of the sea) and an elite swimmer, you can be sure she already feels at ease in the Marine environment at IOGP. She has lived in eight different countries (so far!) and has studied nine languages, including Arabic.

Thierry is a highly accomplished gas market specialist who helped set up the “Gas Coordination group” of the EU Commission. He was Senior European Gas and LNG Analyst and Senior Financial Equity Analyst at Société Générale, where he was accredited as the best European gas analyst for five years in a row. He was also Senior Oil and Gas Expert in charge of security of supply at the French Ministry of Economy and Finance, where he reviewed the regulations governing the liberalisation of the French gas market and supervised the European Contingency Gas Plan.

Thierry lectures at SciencesPo Paris, IFPSchool and Energy Delta Institute on the future of energy. Thierry has authored or coauthored four pieces on these topics: The Oxford Handbook of International SecurityThe European Gas Markets: Challenges and OpportunitiesGéopolitique du gaz russe: Vecteur de pouvoir et enjeu économique; and After the US shale gas revolution. He also enjoys swimming.
