IOGP welcomes Frank van Ewijk as its new Programmes Director
We are pleased to announce that Frank van Ewijk has been appointed IOGP Programmes Director. He succeeds Michael Joinson who returns to Shell after a short but very impactful spell with us.
This is a key role in IOGP, leading several industry collaboration initiatives, including further development, adoption and value realization from the procurement standardization and commoditization program JIP33. Frank will also take on Michael’s role of Middle East & Africa Director.
Frank brings more than 30 years’ experience in Engineering Management, Project Controls, Operations and even HR. He currently leads the specialist discipline engineering teams that support Shell’s global Upstream business, with many of the engineers in his current team active contributors to JIP33 (IOGP’s Standardization of Procurement Specifications programme).
He also has a passion for leading collaborative efforts externally with deep experience in building consensus and delivering value in a cross-industry environment. Frank has just completed an eight-year term as chair of the board of a Dutch cross industry organisation (Nederlandse Apparatenbouw Process Industrie or NAP) for companies in the process industry and Engineering contractors.
He is married to Annelies and lives in the centre of The Hague in a c100-year-old townhouse which they have extensively modified to be net-zero. He enjoys tennis, riding his bike and a good glass of French wine.
Frank will remain based in The Hague though will make regular trips to London. He and Michael will transition at the end of May.
