IOGP Summit attracts over 400 attendees

The inaugural IOGP Summit, held in Indonesia, was a great success, with over 400 attendees, representing 27 operators and many more service providers.

The IOGP Summit was held in Nusa Dua, Bali, on October 16-19, 2023, and comprised four IOGP Standing Committee face-to-face meetings, decommissioning and process safety industry workshops, the 12th Geomatics industry day and exhibition, and the inaugural Asia Pacific regional workshop.

“It was inspiring to have so many people brought together,” said Graham Henley, IOGP CEO. “We came with the objective of listening, learning, and facilitating productive conversations.

“I was delighted to have the chance to connect with our Membership in an important region for our industry. As a whole industry, we are intensely focused on the energy transition. However, I’m a firm believer that there isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ approach to the energy transition. This is particularly true in APAC – it’s an immense and diverse region, with a mix of ‘developed’ and ‘developing’ economies, all at different points of progress in their own transitions. And the summit’s theme, “Explore the Potential”, perfectly describes our aim in bringing the industry together to discuss how to tackle the energy trilemma (affordability, security, and sustainability) in equal measure.

IOGP would like to thank PT Pertamina Hulu Energi for hosting the Summit, and everyone who was involved in bringing the event to life.
