IOGP joins in IMO’s regal milestone celebrations

John Campbell has been attending meetings of the International Maritime Organization since the 1980s – first in his capacity as a UK civil servant and, for the past 21 years, representing IOGP as the Association’s Technical Director.

The meeting on 6 March, however, was significant for both the IMO and for John. It was the Organization’s 70th official get-together and probably John’s last. He retired from IOGP at the end of March.

‘The occasion was considerably grander than usual,’ John recalls. So grand, in fact, that he took his camera to record the presence of a familiar fellow guest. Beyond that, however, John’s usual discretion kicks in. He has declined to share any confidences exchanged with other attendees – including the guest of honour.
