Following the Operational Review to ensure the Association is set for success over the next 18 to 24 months, IOGP is now taking a closer look at its long-term strategy. To carry out this Strategic Review, a Leadership Team has been formed and includes sponsors from the Management Committee as well as the outgoing and incoming Executive Directors, Gordon Ballard and Iman Hill. Additionally, a Strategy Working Group has been formed with representatives from Members and IOGP regional offices to gather input from all relevant stakeholders.
The review will look to answer key questions around the current and future format of the Association and effectiveness of its offerings, to address the expected challenges and transitions in the industry and across our Membership, and will include an assessment of the Association landscape to understand duplication and overlap. “This next strategy cycle will take us through an ever-evolving business environment to IOGP’s 50th Anniversary and beyond. The key to the exercise will be to collect quality data and insights from IOGP Members and a diverse group of external stakeholders in order to assess our strengths and our future role in serving not just our Members, but industry and society as a whole.” says Ed Walsingham, IOGP Business & Strategy Manager.
IOGP Chair Fawaz “Fuzzy” Bitar’s perspective on the Strategic Review is published on the IOGP website.
