Dr Faye Gerard appointed new IOGP Americas Director starting 2 January 2025
IOGP has named Dr Faye Gerard to be its new Americas Director, succeeding Wafik Beydoun, who returns to TotalEnergies after a six-year secondment to the Association.
Faye will step into the position on 2 January 2025 and will take on the Americas responsibilities alongside her current role as Energy Transition Director.
“I look forward to building on the great work delivered by Wafik and his team, to further develop IOGP’s presence in the Americas, deepening our relationships with members, collaborating with industry as well as establishing new relationships,” says Faye.
“Faye is a natural choice for Americas Director, bringing with her a vast background of expertise to head up our presence in the region,” says Graham Henley, IOGP CEO. “We are very excited for the future and look forward to Faye’s leadership in this role.
“Wafik leaves with the Association’s gratitude for all his hard work and achievements,” adds Graham. “On behalf of IOGP’s Members I would like to thank him for leading the Association’s Americas Directorate since 2019. Under his leadership, IOGP has increased its presence in the region, adding value to Members through collaboration and advocacy.”
Dr Faye Gerard joined IOGP to lead the Energy Transition Directorate in November 2023, seconded from bp, and is based in Houston. She holds a Doctor of Business Administration, an MBA, and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Tuskegee University. With more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Faye has held various senior roles, including Vice President of Low Carbon and Sustainability and Senior Federal Government Affairs Director at bp, among others. She also has expertise in environmental engineering, HSE, regulatory affairs, advocacy, and safety risk management. Prior to bp, Faye spent 16 years at Marathon Oil in process engineering, HSE, and community affairs roles.
In addition to her career, Faye is also a mother of three and has a strong passion for philanthropy, leadership, and STEM education. She actively volunteers, serves on university advisory boards, and is a board member of several community organizations. In her free time, she enjoys writing, public speaking, reading, and traveling.
