Decarbonization technologies will be on the agenda in Korea

Iman Hill, IOGP Executive Director, will participate in the ‘Innovative technologies – challenges, opportunities and uncertainties in gas markets’ panel at the 28th World Gas Conference, in Korea, in May. The session will look at the technologies being counted on to meet decarbonization goals, their cost, energy intensity, risk, ability to be deployed at scale and impact on gas markets.

The World Gas Conference, conducted by the International Gas Union (IGU) since 1931, is the world’s largest and most important global gas industry event where thousands of industrial and political leaders, gas executives, specialists, and exhibitors gather every three years in the host destination. IOGP is a delighted to support World Gas Conference 2022 as an Association Partner.

The 28th World Gas Conference (WGC 2022) takes place in Daegu, a hub of Korea’s energy industry, from 23 to 27 May 2022. Hosted by the Korea Gas Union and supported by the Korean Government, host partner KOGAS, the Daegu Metropolitan City government, and the Korean National Organizing Committee (NOC), this four-day conference and exhibition will be an immersive week of gas industry contents and innovation with 500+ speakers in 70 sessions, 350+ exhibitors, and 12,000+ global attendees from over 90 countries.

WGC 2022 will bring together a host of opportunities for attendees to learn, share, connect within the global gas market while shaping the global energy agenda and discussing the role of natural gas in a sustainable future.
