How can oil and gas help enhance quality of life?

Access to affordable, reliable, and versatile energy is key to enhance the quality of life of billions of people. Currently almost 800 million people are living without access to electricity, and hundreds of millions more only have access to very limited or unreliable electricity. Billions of people do not have access to clean cooking fuels. For the foreseeable future this demand cannot be met by renewables only. Oil and gas will continue to play a major role.
