As part of the CCUS Coalition, IOGP, alongside European energy intensive industries, energy producers, and industry associations, has signed a letter addressing the importance of CCUS.
The letter was presented by the Coalition to EU energy ministers attending the informal meeting in Linz, Austria on the 17th-18th September 2018.
The document states that its signatories stand ready to help enable the commercial deployment of CCUS in Europe, and calls on political support and an appropriate policy framework. European governments are encouraged to put CCUS at the heart of the mid-century emissions reduction strategy.
CCUS is key to virtually all industrial sectors in the pursuit of a low carbon economy consistent with Europe’s commitment to the Paris Climate Agreement, including the production of low carbon hydrogen, complementary to renewable hydrogen.
