E-SHRIMP gets an update
In 2007, IOGP published a flexible approach to environmental, social and health stewardship associated with oil and gas projects throughout the upstream asset lifecycle.
Now, Report 529, Overview of IOGP’s Environmental-Social-Health Risk and Impact Management Process, provides guidance on the major activities that underpin the E-SHRIMP approach. It also gives further information on how to do an environmental, social and health impact assessment (ESHIA). The report also features a comprehensive bibliography.
The benefits of the E-SHRIMP approach include:
- making better decisions throughout the project lifecycle
- improving the implementation of the mitigation hierarchy
- enhancing industry reputation when implementing projects in difficult and sensitive physical, biological, social and political settings
- enhancing the management of relationships with key stakeholders
