Access MGP’s methane-related publications in IOGP’s online publications library today

Following the decision to retire the Methane Guiding Principles (MGP) initiative in July, their complete collection of publications on methane emissions reduction has been transferred to IOGP’s online publications library, to be curated within its Energy Transition Integrated Framework. IOGP now hosts MGP publications within the Energy Transition Directorate.

Going forward, IOGP’s Energy Transition Directorate will coordinate publication updates, enhancements and retirements, ensuring these resources remain industry-driven, and responsive to Member needs.

Graham Henley, CEO, IOGP said, “At IOGP, we’re proud to build on the Methane Guiding Principles’ outstanding legacy. By bringing these resources into our Publications Library and adding to the IOGP Energy Transition Integrated Framework, we’re ensuring that recommended practices remain collaborative and impactful. Together with our Members, we will continue to drive meaningful results in methane emissions reductions across the entire industry.”

Cederic Cremers, Chair of MGP said “We celebrate the MGP’s achievements and the lasting impact it made, fostering a focused approach to methane emissions reduction within the industry. We look forward to seeing the momentum gained under MGP continue.”
