Description

IOGP Report 2013s

Every year, we collect safety data on worldwide exploration and production (E&P) operations, onshore and offshore, including incidents involving member companies and their contractor employees. Data are entered into the industry’s largest database of safety performance, the OGP safety database.

Our annual safety reports provide trend analysis, benchmarking, and they identify areas and activities where efforts can bring about the greatest improvements in performance.

Results for these key indicators are analysed by region, function and company:

  • number of fatalities, fatal accident rate, fatal incident rate
  • number of lost work day cases, number of lost work days
  • total recordable injury rate, lost time injury frequency
  • number of restricted duty cases, number of restricted duty days
  • number of medical treatment cases

These changes to the 2013 report improve the presentation of the safety data:

    • addition of total recordable injury rate presented by country
    • fatal accident rate and lost time injury frequency by function are now presented as 5-year rolling average instead of the 3-year rolling average

the region previously named South America is now referred to as South & Central America
