The Geophysical Contractor Management Self-Assessment (GMCSA) tool is provided as a set of templates in Appendices to promote a consistent approach for both self-assessments and external assessments that are conducted within the Geophysical and site survey industry.

The GCMSA is intended as a common assessment tool that will:

  • reduce completion of additional standalone assessments;
  • promote conformity to the required HSSE expectations of the industry as defined in IOGP 432, Managing HSE in a geophysical contract and other key industry standards.

IOGP Report 538 provides information and guidelines that can be used to assist geophysical and site survey contractors in conducting self-assessment of their management systems. Report 538 was developed to align with Report 432, Managing HSE in a geophysical contract, which is based on Report 210, Guidelines for the development of HSE management systems.

With the release of Report 510, Operating management system framework, which replaces Report 210, Report 432 will be updated to align with 510.

Report 423, HSE management guideline for working together in a contract environment is being updated. Once 423 and 432 are updated, 538 will be revised to align with 423, 432 and 510.
