Description

Assess the 2002 safety performance of the global E&P industry

The principal purposes of this report are to present the safety performance of the global E&P industry in 2002, and to compare the performance to that of previous years. The report allows OGP members and others to benchmark their performance against that of the global E&P industry. The key indicators used in the report are: number of fatalities, fatal accident rate, lost time injury frequency and total recordable incident rate. The report presents global results for these indicators, which are then analysed by region, function and company. A code is used for the company results to preserve anonymity. The performance of both companies and contractors is reported. Wherever practicable, results are presented graphically. The data underlying the charts are presented in Appendix B. The tables are organised according to the section in the report where the chart appears. As part of the 2002 data collection exercise, a request was made for organisations to submit occupational illness related data. This report focuses on occupation injury data. Occupational illness data for 2002 will be presented in a separate report.
